I have been at Gesher Yehuda for 20 years. Currently, I teach the eighth grade English subjects. My technique caters to the restlessness that students can feel when stuck in a classroom all day. Some students find it difficult and tedious to sit still, focus, and learn for hours. Learning should be engaging and interactive.
My goal is to tap into each student’s innate curiosity to help them hone their critical thinking skills. Studies show that using all five senses: taste, touch, sight, sound, and smell, as much as possible help students learn and retain information. For this reason, I put effort into making hands-on lessons for each subject.
It is important that students feel they are in a safe environment where they can thrive. That environment is Gesher Yehuda.
At Gesher Yehuda Yeshiva, we work with children with learning differences — bright children who struggle in a mainstream setting. We offer small, structured learning environments designed to meet individual needs. We are an academic program with highly trained special education teachers and therapists. Since 1994, our alumni have gone on to college, careers, and successful lives. All students deserve the education that best fits their needs.
